Report Writing: Historical Place / Lumbini

Ans:    Yes: we had been on an educational tour of a historical place dated 2076-01-.......The report of  our educational tour to Lumbini is given under the following subheading:



 





A. PLACE VISITED/TITLE: "A REPORT ON LUMBINI VISIT" 

We, the students of standard ten decided to visit Lumbini, where Buddha was born in 623 BC. This place is situated in the Terai plains of sou Nepal. The title of our tour study was 'A Historical tour to Lumbini'.

 B. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

The objectives of our educational tour was;

a.       To explore the precise birthplace of Gautam Budhha.

b.      To identify the roles of foreign countries to endorse Lumbini as a historical place.

 C. METHODS OF THE STUDY:

We followed the following methods to collect the details about Lumbini:

a.       Primary methods: Direct field observation, direct questionnaire, and

b.      collection of related experts' opinions.

c.       Secondary methods: the study of related books, journals, newspapers.

D. FINDINGS:

After the visit followings were the findings:

a.       Lumbini has been listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO; is being developed with international support as the place of pilgrimage for the Buddhists.

b.      The Sacred Garden where Budhha was born has been covered by the Ashoka pillar which carries an inscription identifying the spot the birthplace.

c.       The ancient stupas and monasteries have been shown in the shape of the screen tree. To one side of the pillar is the Mayadevi temple which reflects the originality of the ancient pilgrimage.

d.      Recent excavations have turned up a stone-bearing foot imprint indicating the exact place of birth. The Puskarni pond where Queen Mayadevi had taken bath before giving birth to Buddha lies nearby.

e.       Apart from the global initiative to endorse Lumbini, many countries have built and some are building temples monasteries, or stupas near the sacred garden in the International Monastery Zone. The shrines, reflecting the architectural traditions of the respective countries give Lumbini an "international feel” and enhance its message of universal friendship and brotherhood.

f.        The magnificent Chain temple is a complex of pagodas, prayer rooms, and meditation cells. It is built by China, The Buddhist Association of China. Across the road, the Dae sung suk Ga SA Korean temple is also an eye-catching figure in this beautiful place.

g.      Similarly, a number of other countries like Japan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Thailand are also erecting temples and monasteries in this premises.

 E. CONCLUSION:

In conclusion, Lumbini is one of the most significant places of a symbol of 'international feel' and enhancing the message of universal friendship and brotherhood. It might be the right destination to go to explore more facts about the 'Light of Asia' and peace.

 F. RECOMMENDATION:

We would like to recommend the following measures to care for the identity of Lumbini and endorse peace in the world.

a.       A separate governmental department should be established to preserve and endorse the Lumbini area.

b.      Overcrowd of the population should be controlled around Lumbini area.

c.       Security should be ensured to the monk, nun, and all the visitors.

d     A research center should be established to help all concerned explore more facts about Gautam Buddha.

e.       Some information flow programs should be introduced throughout the nation and abroad as well.
